Retrofuturisms is the second volume in the collection "The Future is Female!" It brings together ten short stories written between 1931 and 1966 by Sonya Dorman, Leslie F. Stone, Elizabeth Mann Borgese, Margaret St. Clair, Leigh Brackett, Carol Emshwiller, Rosel George Brown, Leslie Perri, Katherine MacLean, and Andrew North. Imagining the possibilities of the future, these writers tell stories of space adventures, envisioning how different or similar extraterrestrial civilizations would be with whom humans will make contact, and how their encounter and coexistence will unfold.
With strong and versatile female characters, they also bring to light gender dynamics and their problems, as well as the interactions between plants, animals, and machines in other times and on other planets. Regarding the translation, the collective Falsos Amigos presents two significant innovations: the use of inclusive language and collaboration with two artificial neural networks.
