Prufrock and Other Observations (1917) is the first book published by T. S. Eliot, one of the pillars of poetic modernity. A short book, yet heterogeneous, as its registers are varied, as is the aesthetic ambition of each of its pieces. In it, we find a voice that assumes the legacy of that branch of French symbolism represented by Jules Laforgue and Tristan Corbière and filters that legacy through a powerful personality.
