A photographic series of landscapes coexists with text fragments on composition. The combination possibilities of the format allow any text to serve as a caption for any image. This project demonstrates a double absurdity: on the one hand, that of imposing political rules on the landscape; on the other, the prescriptive nature of learned ways of seeing. Neither the landscape nor the gaze is neutral.
The format of this publication allows for a visual and conceptual recomposition of the meaning of landscape: an idea and an image constructed from diverse contexts and human relationships, such as the belief that we can “compose” or “create” a space that is produced without our intervention. The contrast offered by the text and the photographic record provides the reader with the possibility of constructing, through combinations and variables, the coincidence of what is seen against what is read.
