Baika, at the end of the world

Baika and Victoria travel through desolate landscapes, ruined cities, smoking craters... braving all sorts of dangers in an inhospitable world. Ever since the great explosion that separated Victoria from her parents, she and Baika have been searching for them, guided by a mysterious light in the sky, though they are not entirely sure it's a good lead...

One might think that a comic about the end of the world and a little girl's solitary journey is not the most suitable book for children, as they might be scared by the story. But its author, Marcin Podolec, was very aware that he was creating a comic for children, so he did not introduce villains or drastic scenes that could push the limits of young children's sensibilities. Baika at the End of the World is, contrary to appearances, a very suitable comic for children, whose driving force is not the fear of a cataclysm, but friendship and longing for family. This book collects the first two adventures of Baika and Victoria in this post-apocalyptic setting. The magic between them will be key to overcoming all adversities with great tenderness and humor.
