Eyes— Sofia Ayarzagoitia

EYES is a mini photo book by Sofía Ayarzagoitia that compiles a photographic series of an eye. Almost at a 1:1 scale, the book explores the gaze under different light and color temperatures.

As we turn the pages of this publication, we get closer to the intimate relationship of what it means to look directly into someone's eye, to get so close that we can look eye to eye, creating a direct physical relationship with the publication. Stripped of the context of who the subject is, this record by the artist offers us a performative act of what it means to look at another's gaze.
